Gold Hits a New Record High

Gold prices soared to a record level on Tuesday. In spot transactions, gold increased by 0.4 percent to $4124.79 per ounce as of 0029 GMT, after reaching a record $4131.52 earlier in the session.

U.S. gold futures for December delivery rose by 0.3 percent to $4143.10. Gold, considered a safe haven, has surged 57 percent since the beginning of the year, surpassing the $4100 mark for the first time yesterday, Monday.

Silver in spot transactions rose by 0.3 percent to $52.49 per ounce, after hitting $52.70 earlier today. Among other precious metals, platinum increased by 0.5 percent to $1653.45 per ounce, while palladium gained 1.6 percent to $1498.25, marking its highest level since May 2023.
