Oil and Gold Prices Surge as Dollar Declines

Oil prices saw a slight uptick today, Thursday, with Brent crude futures rising 13 cents or 0.12%, reaching $105.76 per barrel. At the same time, US West Texas Intermediate futures increased by 12 cents or 0.12%, attaining a price of $101.14 per barrel by 00:15 GMT.

In the previous Wednesday session, both crude benchmarks experienced a dip, with Brent crude falling more than $2 per barrel and US crude dropping by over $1.

In contrast, gold prices edged up today, Thursday, supported by a weaker dollar.

Gold in the spot market rose by 0.3% to reach $4699.87 per ounce, while US gold futures for June delivery remained steady at $4706.90.

Among other precious metals, silver fell 0.4% to $87.64 an ounce. Meanwhile, platinum rose 0.7% to $2151.38, and palladium increased by 0.4% to $1506.19.
